Muhammad Asif, A Pakistani snooker champion, has won the World Snooker Championship held in Antalya Turkey, for the second time against a Philippines player Jefrey Roda on Saturday. The masterly got the victory with the 8-5 point difference against his skilled competitor. In 2012, he represented Pakistan in the snooker championship on the international level, held in Bulgaria where he won the title of World snooker champion for the first time. Pakistan had the same title in 1994 won by snooker champion Muhammad Yousaf and then after that Muhammad Asif won this trophy for Pakistan.
After getting this title in 2012, Muhammad Asif worked so hard and won the title again right after 7 years in 2019 and now he is known as World snooker champion for the second time. On his marvelous victory, all representing personalities from every sphere appreciated his achievement, so as Pakistani president DR. Arif Alvi congratulated him on his conquest. PBSF (Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation) honored him with garlands.
On his arrival back in Karachi at Jinnah International airport, from Turkey after winning the title of World Snooker Champion for the second time, he was warmly welcomed by his people. In his interview, he congratulated every Pakistani for the title as he believes that this victory does not only belong to him rather this is a victory for all Pakistanis. He also devoted his reward to all Kashmiri people.
Muhammad Asif ever worked hard to represent Pakistan on the international level, and he and his team many times requested to higher authorities to support snooker on government level so that the players can win many more awards and title for Pakistan after having enough resources. During his career throughout snooker federation PBSF supported him and his companions in his tough times for which he is really much thankful and showed his gratitude in his interview right after coming back to Pakistan, he also added his requesting words for the current government to support snooker sport after this victory as a reward.
How Muhammad Asif struggled to become a champion?
Muhammad Asif belongs to a middle-class Pakistani family from Faisalabad. He is doing an impermanent job in NBP. His brother hoping for a permanent job for his brother on government level and also waiting for incentives as previous sports minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani announced a cash prize of 1 billion for his victory but till, yet he did not get the announced prize so from current government they are hoping for a positive encouragement to get further success for Pakistan on international level.
